She joined Keyakizaka46 at the age of 17, next year in January she will be approaching her 20 year old coming-of-age ceremony. As expected, she is currently 19 years old. Needless to say, to her, this last year of her teens has been a big milestone. However, this is not only because of the suspension of Keyakizaka46’s activities and the renaming to Sakurazaka46. Through Keyakizaka46’s last activity, the Last Live, it seems that she had faced herself more than ever before and realised many things. Also looking towards the future, she made a certain “promise” to herself. In order to know what that “promise” is, we must look back at the Last Live which was held several days before this interview.  On the day of the Last Live, it felt strange. I couldn’t believe that it was genuinely going to be our last performance as Keyakizaka.   Interviewer: At the time of this interview, not even a month has passed since Keyakizaka46 turned into Sakurazaka46, but how about Koike-san’s feelings? Have you switched yet? Mii-chan: I gave my all as Keyakizaka46 at the Last Live, so now I have the feelings of being a Sakurazaka member, but I’m still not used to saying “I’m Sakurazaka46’s Koike Minami”, or when I write my name I still hesitate for a moment, so there are still parts where I haven’t fully got dyed in Sakura yet.  Sakurazaka46’s Matsuda Rina (21), who will be taking her role as vice captain starting from this month, reveals her oath. With her unique background as a former bank employee, she is active with her cheerful assertiveness and politeness. Together with her senior Sugai Yuuka (25) who will be continuing her captain role, she is a new key person who will lead Sakurazaka46, which was renamed and reborn last year. She and Sugai were told by staff about the appointment on being a vice captain. “I didn’t feel it right away, but since I’m the type of person who accepts everything, I thought that I just have to do what I had to do”, she recalled.   As a first-generation member of Keyakizaka46, she has been running through five years of intense activity until just a dozen hours ago. Only a few days after Keyakizaka46's last live performance, I'm sure there are more than a few parts that she hasn't been able to organize yet. Nevertheless, Uemura Rina looked forward to the interview with a very radiant smile. Uemura: The day after the Last Live, I went for a massage. The rest of the time, I was doing a lot of household chores that had accumulated. I usually have a really normal life, so even the day after the Last Live was a normal day (laughs).   The decisive difference between “Sakurazaka46” and “Keyakizaka46” before is that the Center is rotated between 3 people! The Centers are Fujiyoshi Karin, Morita Hikaru, and Yamasaki Ten trio who are appearing this time. Ka: When I first heard about the new system, while I unsurprisingly felt happy to be selected as a Center, there is a bigger excitement towards the atmosphere that will surely change with each Center, and how we will surely be an interesting group. I want us to aim to be a multifaceted group! Ten: Instead of thinking ‘the 3 of us must lead the group’, more than that, I think that the feeling that we all should fight together as a group is stronger.
